Introduction

This topics looks at the different types of Purchase Order, whether they require Part Masters for the line items and the relevant GRN, Batch and Receipt Inspection processes.

Purchase Order Types

Stock Used for Stock replenishment where full traceability is needed. Yes Optional Yes Yes No Batch Stock
Non-Stock Used for purchasing Items where batch numbers are not needed.

Examples: Safety equipment, Paint Brushes, Drills, Reamers, Tools / Tooling Calibration.

Process

Used for processes against Ops on Projects and Works Orders.

Examples: Plating, NDT.

Drop-Ship (Sales Order) Used for purchasing items on behalf of a Customer that are sent directly from the Supplier to the Customer.
